Theater Intern

JOB DESCRIPTION: THEATER INTERN

Each year at FSC, interns have the opportunity for creative and collaborative experience, honing a variety of skills and taking on responsibilities with commitment and diligence. Working side by side with professionals, FSC’s interns learn skills, make connections, and interact with those working in the industry every day.

FSC’s Theater Interns assist the Artistic Director, Production Manager, Stage Manager, and Resident Designer/Technical Director in the day-to-day functioning of the Theater and in production of shows for the summer season. Interns have opportunities to work in rehearsal, technical, administrative, box office, promotion, and other areas, as needed.

Daily responsibilities include assistance with:

  • ASM set up, cleanup, and run of rehearsal each day
  • ASM set up and cleanup of performance space on show nights
  • Technical Director build/load-in/strike of AEA produced shows and visiting artist shows
  • Front of House duties, and/or Front Desk reception, as needed
  • Administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning, or filing
  • Tech opportunities may include sound and light board ops and backstage crew duties

Schedule: Tuesday–Sunday throughout most of the season. Some weeks are busier than others. Tech and visiting-artist overlap weeks may involve some double shifts (July 18-Aug 4). The schedule is reduced to approximately Wed or Thurs–Sunday in the last 2 weeks of the season (Aug 7-20).

Compensation: A weekly stipend is provided.

Dates: Must be available June 12—August 20

Housing: Not provided.

Covid Protocols: FSC is a fully vaccinated company. Proof of vaccination is required.
